Today we woke up devastated, disappointed, and pissed off by the outcome of the 24% tax increase. Please save this post and remember these names on the last slide when it comes time to vote next year. They do not care about us whatsoever.

The silver lining is that this community came together over the past few days like I’ve never seen before. We sat any differences aside to unite and try protecting our livelihoods and everything we’ve worked so hard to build. Let’s not let our community fade through the difficult times ahead. We need each other more now than ever.

Thank you to everyone who made their presence known at the Capitol. We saw you. They saw you. And it doesn’t end here.

On September 30, the Wojo team joined hundreds of cannabis workers, advocates, and small business owners on the steps of the Michigan Capitol in Lansing to rally against House Bill 4951, a proposal that would add a 24% tax on the wholesale price of cannabis.

This bill isn’t just about dollars and cents, it’s about people’s livelihoods. If passed, it would raise prices for consumers, potentially push customers back into the illicit market, and undermine the legal system Michigan has worked hard to build. In an already saturated industry, this additional tax would devastate small businesses, cut into razor-thin margins, and put thousands of jobs at risk. Jobs that support real families, real paychecks, and real communities.

We showed up to make our voices heard, and we’re not done yet. 💪🐝

Now we need you! Contact your state senator and urge them to VOTE NO on HB 4951. Stand with cannabis workers, protect Michigan jobs, and keep our industry strong.

Team Wojo got down and dirty to make Wojo World come to life. One of my favorite things about this team has gotta be how we’re not above any task, nor is anything out of reach. If there’s a will, there’s a way. We’ve always done everything ourselves since day one, and preparing for this event was no different. From groundskeeping to some light demolition, it was a nice change of scenery and felt great to get outside!

I’m not sure how many of you have heard of Deer Acres, or if you went there as a kid. A lot of us did, and it was a nostalgic dream come true to host our event out there after it had been vacant for so many years. That place has a ton of potential and this was just the beginning!

I can’t believe it’s been seven years since everything changed for Wojo Wax. What started as a tiny basement grow turned into a 34,000 sq ft facility. What started as only producing rosin turned into a full catalog of products. What started as a few industry friends turned into an unbelievable community we now call our colony.

I could go on and on about the evolution of this company, but instead I just want to say thank you. We’ll never forget our caregiver roots, or take for granted those who have been with us since the beginning and those of you who have discovered us along the way. This job is a dream come true.

Words can’t express our gratitude towards every single one of you who showed up. This was the first event we’ve ever hosted, and it still feels surreal. From infused mocktails to homemade BBQ sauce to Wojo doing what he does best on the Traeger, we put a lot of time and intention into making sure every detail was perfect. The whole night felt electric and the appreciation was felt on both ends without a doubt. We can’t thank you guys enough and look forward to next time! ❤️🐝
